Johannesburg, South Africa: VEA Road Maintenance & Civils (VEA Roads) is celebrating a double recognition at the 2026 Exceptional Women in Road and Construction (ERWIC) Awards, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence, strong project delivery and the advancement of women in South Africa’s infrastructure sector.
VEA Roads’ Everton Project was named Project Delivery Excellence of the Year – Women-owned Construction Entity, recognising the project’s successful delivery and the company’s contribution to infrastructure development. The achievement reflects the expertise, dedication and collaborative efforts of the VEA Roads team in delivering quality infrastructure.
Thoko Tshabalala-Shandu, Managing Director of VEA Roads, was named a finalist for Exceptional Woman in Construction Contributor of the Year. Her recognition highlights her leadership and contribution to the construction sector, as well as her role in championing greater participation and opportunities for women within the industry.
